The journey (1/2)

The alarm on Dahyun’s phone went off at 6.30 am.

Dahyun stirred but didn’t open her eyes.

After a few seconds, she reached out for her mobile and hit cancel.

She climbed out of bed and wenti to the bathroom to have her shower that morning.

Done with her shower, she puts on her school uniform.

She peeked at her table calendar while brushing her hair.

“Friday, last day of school for this week and I’m going to have fun tomorrow.”

She is smiling thinking about the promise she made to spend the time together with Sana in Everland Theme Park on Saturday.

She then walk out of her room to have her breakfast.

“Good morning, mom!” She gives a good morning peck to her mother and smile.

“Good morning, my baby”. Mrs Kim replied and give her good morning kiss on her daughter’s forehead.

“French toasts for today’s breakfast”. Mrs Kim put a plate of French toast with honey and fresh fruits in front of Dahyun.

“Yeay, my favourite. Thanks mom.”

Dahyun was about to bite one piece of the toast before her brother suddenly grab it from her.

“It’s my favourite too. Thanks Dahyuni”. Myungsoo started to bite and munching his toast grabbed from Dahyun.

“Oppa, that’s mine!” Dahyun shouts.

Myungsoo ignored his little sister and finished eating the whole toast.

He then took his seat beside her.

“Myungsoo ya, can you stop teasing your sister?” Mrs Kim urged.

“Oops, sorry mom. It’s a habit that I cannot resist. Here you go sister, a French toast from oppa!”

Myungsoo smirked before putting one new piece of French toast on to Dahyun’s plate.

“Thank you, oppa!” Dahyun scoffed and took a bite.

All of them then continuing having their breakfast silently.

“Mom, I will have to go to the library tomorrow. Jinyoung and I will have a discussion for our becoming History project.” Myungsoo said breaking the silent.

“Alright. What time will you finish?”

“Hmm, probably before dinner. Why do you ask?”

“Nothing. I’m planning to cook dinner tomorrow. I want to cook the new recipe I learnt before.”

“New recipe? Alright mom. I’ll definitely come home for dinner.” Myungsoo grinned.

He always excited to try her mom’s new recipe. He is her number one fan.

Same goes to Dahyun. Usually, they’d have dinner in restaurant during weekends.

However, they like it if they can have home cooked meal.

“Mom, can I go to Everland Theme Park tomorrow?” Dahyun’s turn asking for her mom’s permission.

“Everland? Who will you go with?”

“I’m going with a friend. She is a foreign student and it’ll be her first time going there.”

“Hmm okay. I’ll pack you some snacks tomorrow.”

“Yeay, thank you mom!” Dahyun said happily.

All of them continuing having their breakfast.

Dahyun heard Tzuyu and her friend Chaeyoung greet her in unison.

“Ohh good morning Tzuyu Chaeyoung.” She smiled.

She noticed that Kyulkyung was not with them. That is unusual to see that Tzuyu was not with her this morning.

Usually, they will walk to school together since they are roommate.

“Wait, where’s Kyulkyung? She asked, curious.

“Kyulkyung unnie asked me to go first.” Tzuyu replied.

Upon hearing that, Dahyun is curious. She then remembered that Kyulkyung must be upset with her opinion on Hyunkyung yesterday.

“Dahyun unnie, we’re going to the laboratory now. See you later unnie.” Chaeyoung said.

“Ohh alright, good bye!” Dahyun following her juniors heading to the laboratory with her eyes.

She then heading to her classroom.

Upon entering her classroom, she saw that Vernon was looking at her smiling.

“Good morning, Dahyun ahh.”

'Why is he looking at me like that?'.

“Ohh good morning Vernon.” She greets back.

“So, have you asked for your mom’s permission?”

“What permission?”

“For our dinner gathering tomorrow night?”

'Ahh, I totally forgot about it'. Dahyun suddenly remembered about her archery team dinner gathering.

She doesn’t want Vernon to know that she had planned to go to Everland with Sana.

“Ohh the dinner. I’m sorry, Vern. We will have a family dinner tomorrow. I’d not attend the gathering” Dahyun replied.

“You can’t come?ohh never mind. Family is more important after all.”

Vernon said. He’s obviously upset with it. His smile disappeared, make him looked different from before.

Dahyun saw Kyulkyung entering the classroom. She went straight to her seat beside her without greeting Dahyun at all.

Dahyun knew it must be about Hyunkyung issue.

She remembered about Sana’s opinion on how to solve it with Kyulkyung.

She glances at her and she knew there is no sign for Kyulkyung to talk with her that morning.
