Noona Devils (1/1)

xuanmiin: Kwon's point of view. -My solo is completed in what seems like record time, again, since we had already started on it before I enlisted. This time, I could squeeze two of what could be called my songs in. One that was inspired by my stint in the military, and the other was for Ga In. Not that the fans would ever need to know that. I thought promotions would have been quieter without 2AM, as they always were. I will confess that promoting at 2AM is definitely more interesting, the only drawback being that I look like a small runt next to the rest of them. With the evolution of 2AM, the contract was altered for everyone to keep what we earned instead of splitting it evenly.Well, I couldn’t be more wrong. In some (fortunate) coincidence, I had heavily overlapping promotion period with the BEG noonas. By BEG promotion for their mini album is more accurately put as BEG on music shows and Ga In on obligatory variety. Seeing that I was virtually the only one from any JYP company promoting at this point, I shared waiting rooms with other random male idols. And for music shows, the BEG noonas had a small waiting room to themselves. So the one moment I didn’t have to be in my waiting room, you can guess where I was permanently stationed. Things worked out very well, except I got very queer looks from the random male idols when I made a temporary stop at the waiting room. Now, I was heading over to their waiting room again.“The most beautiful noonas in the world!” The greeting just sticks, and it hasn’t changed since then.“Kwonnie!” They all chorus, as I shut the door behind me. Miryo noona has brought her baby along today, I notice.“Miryo noona!”“Her husband is away, overseas trip. So unnie can’t leave the baby at home.” Ga In answers my question before I ask it.“Sometimes, I really don’t understand you noonas!” I express, confounded, “I’m sure all of you rake in enough as composers and lyricists. Either way, the album will do just fine whether you promote or not, you know that!”“We wanted to promote. We love being on stage.” Narsha noona replies simply.“I can’t dance, but I still can sing!” Jea noona adds on.“If you want to talk about earnings, you’re probably looking at the wrong noonas.” Miryo noona quips.“If we’re not picky, I think we have enough songs for what, almost three full length albums?” Ga In takes a different approach.“We do!” Jea noona nods, “The worst part is we can’t exactly sell them off. They were written for three vocalists and one rapper…” Her voice trails off somewhat.“I know, the songs were written specifically for BEG. You’ll can’t sell it off because it’s difficult to find idol groups which want to sing your songs. Harmony upon harmony, ad libs everywhere, slow rap breaks.”“Well, theoretically, we could do away with the harmonies, trash the ad libs, change the rap breaks into dance breaks—”  Miryo noona starts.“But without even listening to the song, I know that it won’t sound half as good if you do that. After all, that’s what makes a BEG song fantastic.”“We don’t really want to see our song desecrated like that too.” Narsha noona concurs.“So we wind up just being really picky and singing our own songs.” Ga In concludes.“That’s why we don’t earn that much.” Miryo noona seems to like the topic of earnings, “Compared to our baby-G at least.”“Unnie…” She whines, definitely doesn’t want Miryo noona to continue.“Don’t unnie me. You know I’m right. She earns from her solo activities, BEG promotions and behind the scenes work.”“Unnie!” Her tone is now warning.“Shush baby-G!” Jea noona berates, “Don’t scare the poor baby.”“Little Ga Innie hasn’t told you how much she makes, has she? Seeing how defensive she was.”“Unnie!” Now she’s pleading Narsha noona to stop.“Not really. We don’t really talk about income.”“Seriously? How long have you been with him, Ga Innie?” Narsha noona demands.“That just means that she doesn’t intend to.” Ga In stiffens when Jea noona glances in her direction, so
