xuanmiin: Ga In's point of view. -Unexpectedly, the door creaks open a fraction, and Jinyoung oppa walks in. Though stunned, I manage a polite greeting before Jinyoung oppa sits himself down on the end of the couch. “Yeo told me the good news!” Jinyoung oppa says with a grin that can almost be described as silly. This definitely falls into the category of people finding out way too early.“Hyung?” Kwonnie unsteadily ventures.
“So of course I had to come pay a visit to one of my favourite ‘sons’ and arguably my favourite ‘daughter-in-law’.” We haven’t even told our parents yet. “So it’s true right?” Yeo oppa merely jumped to conclusions before Kwonnie even opened his mouth, “Come on, answer me, stop gawking at me!”
Kwonnie jerks his hand upwards to let Jinyoung oppa see the ring, since he probably can’t even find his tongue to answer. The silly smile on Jinyoung oppa’s face returns again.“So it’s really true! Yeo guessed it correctly!” Jinyoung oppa exclaims, and it’s virtually him having a conversation with himself since two of us are at a loss for words. “Welcome to the JYPE family, Ga In-ah!”“Don’t you think she was already part of the family a long time ago?” Yeo oppa comments flatly.“Officially!” Jinyoung oppa chirps. If you didn’t know any better, you would have thought that he was the one who was engaged.“Why do you look happier than the two of them?” Yeo oppa says as he busies himself with packing up to leave.“I am happy for them! I’ve said before, who wouldn’t want a daughter-in-law like Ga In? And Kwon-ah suits her!” Jinyoung oppa, the proud father? “Remember to keep your promise, you’ll must come to sing for me every week! You promised!”“That was years ago.” Kwonnie drags the years for additional emphasis.“I’ll leave two of you with hyung now.” Yeo oppa informs politely as he makes his way out.“As if Ga In isn’t in the building once a week.” Jinyoung oppa scoffs, turning up his nose in the opposite direction. “Indeed, every cloud has a silver lining.” I presume he must be referring to chain of events that resulted in me being paired with Kwonnie in WGM instead.“Sorry for saying this, hyung. But I’m intensely grateful, and that’s something I won’t hide.” Both of us know that chain of events had decided ramifications on those involved.“Let’s just say, it could have been worse.” Jinyoung oppa exhales a breath, “Doesn’t change that hyung is happy for you. Take care of her, you boy!”“Hyung!” Kwonnie whines, “Why are you on Ga Innie’s side? Everyone tells me to take care of Ga Innie. Mom and Dad tell me to take care of Ga In-ah. Even Seulong hyung tells me to take care of her!”“Because it’s within your ability. She doesn’t let just anyone take care of her, you know that.” Jinyoung oppa thumps him on the head. “Anyway, I was here to bring good news, but I got carried away.”“Good news?”“My wedding gift!” He proudly declares, without giving any hints on what it might be.“Don’t you think that’s quite jumping the gun, oppa?”“Actually my gift also has a fair degree of selfish motive behind it, but I hope you’ll like it anyway.” Jinyoung oppa gets slightly hesitant.
“Selfish motive?” Kwonnie squeaks.“You draw on your experience with Ga In. Her influence is felt in many songs that you do.” Kwon nods in silent agreement, “I’ve also heard that you have a significant number of hidden songs that simply don’t fit with the theme of the 2AM or your solo albums. We’ve also discovered that you’re often very reluctant to part with your duets.”“My voice is high. It’s not easy to find someon
